   Holiday Play Scheme 2010

Monday 26th July to Friday 27th August
(please note the upper age limit is now 13 years old)

Please bring: sunhats, sun cream, a packed lunch (hopefully no chocolate), clothes and shoes that don't mind getting dirty, wellies and a change of cloths if your child is very prone to getting muddy! No mobile phones please unless handed in for safe keeping.

We will provide squash, biscuits and fruit at break time. Each day will include feeding the animals and any other routine stock tasks that need doing, you never know what might happen! We will also be using the Loose Parts Barn; making dens and creating what you want to create and having fun. There are different themes each week.

Feeding the animals and routine stock tasks

Pony work

Tree climbing

26th - 30th July, Tropical Seaside
Make our own tropical beach paradise; giant palm trees, making ice cream, lots of water play and music

2nd - 6th August, Tent City
Bring your own tent to pitch for the day. We will have some of our own as well. Enjoy cooking on a campfire. Lots of fun and games. All the fun of camping without the sleepover.

9th - 13th August, Small animals and Farming week
Farming Week (10+ years, 8 children only) Learn more about real farming. We will be learning new stock tasks and undertaking farming projects. Numbers are limited as it is a chance for the older age-group to get to know each other and work as a team. There is also an additional charge for trips out to other farms and venues of £25

For those aged under 10 small animal handling, pet shows, lots of unusual creepy crawlies and snail racing! You will adopt a small animal for the day, learn about the care and handling.

16th - 20th August, Pony and Fishing week
Pony pamper sessions with our lovely pony Cracker and pony rides. We will be working with all our ponies. You can make your own hobby horse to take home. We have riding hats but please bring a hat if you have your own. Fishing is always popular. We will have a fishing competition, make a giant fish, have a go at fish-kebabs and adopt a fish for the day.

23rd - 27th August, Textile/Craft and Den Building
Have a go at spinning, weaving and felt making. For those 'not so keen on woolly crafts' there will be giant junk modelling, den building in the newly rebuilt barn, painting the playhouse and lots more...
