20th - 24th July, Mini Workshops This is your chance to have a go at everything on the farm, usually with a small
number of children as a lot of schools will not have broken up yet. Each day we
will have a different theme although this will be flexible; Monday - ponies,
Tuesday - fishing, Wednesday - cooking, Thursday - den building, Friday - small
animals.
27th - 31st July, 'If you go down to the woods
today' Lots of activities based around the trees and woods on the farm. You could have a go at wood carving, wooden sculptures, leaf printing, bark rubbing, den building and all things wooden.
3rd - 7th August, Giant modelling and
traditional crafts This week is your chance to make giant models. For those who want to you can have a serious go at spinning, knitting, weaving, felting, dyeing and silk painting. There will also be a 'plastic fantastic' day where we will use lots of imagination to see what we can make from all things plastic.
10th - 14th August, Small animals and Farming week
Farming Week (10 to 13 years) is an opportunity for the older children to gain a more in-depth knowledge of how we run the farm and learn practical stock tasks. We will be going out on trips, one being the favourite to buy some calves from Hailsham market.
For those aged under 10 we will spend lots of time with
the small animals - rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. Each child will adopt a
small animal, we will really get to know them, how to look after them and even
have a pet show at the end of the week. But don't worry we will still be with
the bigger animals at times.
17th - 21st August, Pony and Fishing week Come and have a go at riding our new ponies Misty and Corky as well as our old favourite Cracker. We will be riding every day, learning how to look after them all and other activities based around the pony theme.
for those of you who love to fish on the farm, we will have a
whole week of fishing, trying out different baits, learning about the fish we
have caught, seeing who can catch the biggest fish and other activities based
around the 'fishy' theme. Please bring suncream and sunhats.
24th - 28th August, Sports and Ponies week We will be trying all things sporty this week and learning games we can all play together. You can join in a giant game of man hunt around the farm and lots more large group games. For those of you less sporty, we will also have the ponies which you can look after and ride every day.
1st - 2nd September, Mini workshops A chance for you to unwind after a hectic summer and spend some time with the animals and choose any other activities you love to do on the farm before going back to school.
